Art Basel 2011 December Miami Beach Florida.

The big Swiss art show celebrated 10 yrs with Miami. That many years already?
Miami Beach loves hosting this show and it seems Art Basel feels the same about the matchup. Art Basel even weighed in on a local developement issue recently, letting Miami Beach and the City of Miami know that if they advanced with a mega gambling project Basel would seriously rethink it’s position and move to another region.wow !.
                    Maybe they know their best customers have a weakness for gaming that would compete with the Gallery sales. Of course.! Still for those of us living in Miami who have been trying to put the brakes on the mega Gambling Casinos invasion Art Basel’s imput is welcome proof that culture is more important to entertainment than chance, greed, lust and lost opportunities.

The  Jurying for the 2011  Coconut Grove Art Festival 
October 5 and 6, 2010, the jurying for the 2011 Coconut Grove Arts Festival took place to select the Fine artists to be featured in the 2011 festival. The jury went through over 1200 artists applications over a two day period to narrow the artists down to a mere 350 with only the award winners from the previous year being re-invited without going through the Jurying process.
